Certification Resources

Project GO Guides must have a current First Aid/CPR certification to guide. Senior and Head Guides must have current Swift Water Rescue Certification. The list of resources below is not comprehensive, but serves as a good place to start. If you have a resource or location that you would like to see listed here please send it to us by email at Info.

The International CPR Institute offers a blend of emergency care training. With online training and refresher courses, ICPR is a great resource for re-certification.

Foster Calm, based in Nevada City, is dedicated to providing quality, low-cost first aid and leadership classes to individuals and groups, especially non-profits. We offer fun classes, with lots of hands-on skills. The emphasis is on making good decisions by staying calm and safe. We focus on learning a system that will help you stay focused and calm. You will learn principles and not memorize lists.

The American Red Cross offers first aid and CPR training in many localities. Search for classes by zipcode.

Sierra Rescue has Rescue 3 Swiftwater Rescue Technician, Technical Rope Rescue and Wilderness First Responder training facilities in Quincy on the Feather River, Coloma on the South Fork American River, and in Knights Ferry on the Stanislaus River. Sierra Rescue specializes in the Rescue 3 Swiftwater Rescue Technician, Rescue 3 Whitewater Rescue, Wilderness First Aid, Technical Rope Rescue, Technical Animal Rescue and Wilderness First Responder Courses.
