We are seeing echos of our second Backwash all over. Photos. Blogs. News Reoprts. Emails. It’s clear that we made an impression. Not only with the great beers, but with the the commitment to our purpose and the importance of Project GO’s work. We are already in the planning stages for Backwash 2013. Hope to see you there!

Backwash sold out this year, with over 500 people. Check back soon for photos, complete contest results and a recap. First and foremost, we thank our supporters, sponsors and friends. Project GO is proof that when a community wants to make the world a better place, they can. They do. And they can have a great time doing it!

Are you ready? The west’s premier gathering of food, fun, music and BEER happens today! Advance general admission tickets are sold out, but YOU CAN STILL GO! There are a handful of VIP tickets on sale at http://backwashreno.org until noon Saturday the 20th, and there will be another 6o general admission tickets available at the door starting at 4:00 PM.

VIPs get in at 4:30, and the general public can get in at 6:00 pm.

At first we were bummed out that the site was down. But then we realized why it was down: too much traffic. Too much traffic? That’s the kind of problem we LIKE to have. People: Backwash will sell out. If you wait till the day of, you may be left out in the cold! It may take a little bit for the name servers to update and point to the new site, but by wednesday morning, you can be sure that all will be back to normal.

Looks like Backwash is more popular that even WE thought! Seems we have exceeded the bandwidth allowed by our hosting company. While we work to fix it, you can STILL BUY TICKETS through Event Brite… though coupon codes will not work. We’ll get this resolved soon! Thanks for your patience.

Backwash Billboard!

Thanks to the generosity of YESCO, the electronic billboard on I-80 at 395 in Reno will display an ad for our upcoming fundraiser, Backwash! Add this to the support of Radio and Television stations, and we’re even more sure that the event will again sell out. In fact, with more than a month to go, nearly 20% of the tickets have been sold! Do you have yours yet?

New Project GO website in the works

As Project GO has grown, our website has grown with it. Fourteen years ago when we started it was pretty simple. But recently the amount of content has become cumbersome, and it has been difficult to keep everything organized within the site’s structure. We’ve not yet picked a “go live” date, but the new site will be online pretty soon. Client groups and volunteers will have a much easier time finding the information that they need. This particular bit of news is simply a test of the new facebook cross-posting ability. Wish it luck!

At it’s heart, in the company of live music, great food and a silent auction, are the prized beers of more than 40 local home-brewers, each competing for bragging rights and the chance to brew at The Silver Peak in Reno and have their beer featured on tap.
